Meet Barry

I grew up in the Philadelphia area. My passion in photography started when my father got mad at me for using Polaroid film on lamps, furniture, books, and shadows at his Center City Philadelphia condo in the late 1970s. Not only did I love watching the photo develop, but I was fascinated with the way the light hit and changed everything. I was fortunate to learn black & white photography and darkroom techniques in high school. Now I can be seen walking around the city with my DSLR finding whatever subject suits me at the moment.

Photography is my way of finding something beautiful in the mundane and extraordinary in the simplest things. I connect with the camera as a way to see the world. I enjoy playing with shadows, shapes, geometry, and light in portraits and abstracts. I enjoy working with people while capturing personality with the camera.
